Christmas Card Show Day Three

Welcome to Day Three of my Christmas Card Show!

This is the other card that was a commission.  Again - I added the names afterwards - not as happy with the card because of this...but hey!
Close up on the snowflakes - punched out and glittered.

And the image - with the delightful glossy accents!

Thanks for popping by - see you again tomorrow?

Delicious Doodles - Religious Christmas Card - and Day One of the Christmas Card Show!

I just realised I had made quite a few cards, photographed them and had them sitting in posts ready to show ...... and thats as far as I got!

Here is my Sunday Post for Delicious Doodles - so I thought I would use this to kick off my Christmas Card Show!

I think this image is just so beautiful - and so many people have coloured it in so beautifully - so I thought I would colour the background with chalks and leave the image itself plain!

I used a punch for the snowflakes, dry emblossed the background paper and used my ecraft to cut out the swish (and shadow)

Thanks for popping by today - dont forget Delicious Doodles have a challenge running - and a free sentiment to pick up too!

Quickie Bugaboo Advent Calendar

Just a quick post - and a quick make!  This is another Bugaboo image!  Coloured it in inkscape - its A4 so it would have taken waaaay too long to colour!

Then cut out the individual date things...used my cinch to bind it - and mounted the whole thing on chipboard.

This is going on my noticeboard in our office at work....that would be an office with 2 librarians in it!

Hee Hee - thanks for popping by  - Rx

Delicious Doodles Blog Hop - my winner!

All I can say is...thank goodness one of the other DT posted their winner on their blog....cos I thought we still had ages to go on the hop!

So - I got Josh to do the draw!  He couldnt be dishonest if he tried!  Well actually.......
And here he is making the selection!  Told him not to look!

I LOVE the look on his face!

Sorry - going all mummyish there.....the winner is Jinny Newlin!  Jinny would you email me please .... gedalovitch at gmail dot com - I will send your image straight over (unless I am out, in bed, making cards, loading the dishwasher, reading with Josh, cleaning poop out the lizard cage, playing with the cats, feeding the hamster, giving the guinea pigs water, doing the washing, eating, having a cuppa, sleeping - oh you get the idea!)

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments!  If Jinny doesnt contact me by next Friday then I will get Josh to draw another name!

Ho Ho Ho!

We're back again!!!!  How quickly does two weeks scoot past?

The sponsor of our next challenge is....... Taylored Expressions!

They are giving the winner a beautiful stamp set called Tweet Hearts.

If you haven't been to their store or blog you must check them out.

Here is a little bit about them...

"Taylored Expressions is an online store full of whimsical rubber stamps, coordinating kits, and fresh ideas. You’ll find everything you need to satisfy your creative sweet tooth! Tune in to the Taylored Expressions blog for weekly sketch challenges, inspiring ideas, and how-to videos!"

Your challenge this time is to use the words "Ho! Ho! Ho!" somewhere on your project.

And here is mine.....used a Lana image to colour!  She is just sooooo cute!

I cut the letters using my ecraft - welded them, then cut them, then covered them with glossy accents and some glitter!

I have never used acetate on a card before....tied it in place with a ribbon and added a couple of bells (drove the cats mad!)

Lets see what you can do - please dont forget to use the words "HO HO HO" somewhere on your creation...then pop over to Aud Sentiments to link up your image...I just love popping around people's blogs to see what they create - so much inspiration!  In fact, I have now started a folder on my desktop with inspirational pictures in it!

Ooooo - and quick explanation of my little project.  We live next door to one of these dogs - Penny!  She loves looking through our fence, and comes over for cuddles...lots!  BUT we also have two cats - who tease her mercilessly!  They sit on the fence and stare at her until she is almost popping!

I decided that, to make up for all that teasing, the cats need to spend some of their treat money to buy Penny a little something for Christmas - and this is the little french fry box we will put it in!  AND, not only did I use a delicious doodles image - but I also used Teri's new range of designer papers too!  How fab are they?

Anyway, enough whiffle!!!!

Wishing you ALL the very best of luck.

Just had to share....

I have just made my first couple of cards for someone - as a commission!  WOW!  The delightful Ella (she of the tonsils!) asked me for a couple of Crimbo cards - for her mil and mum - and I did them and showed them to her yesterday - she loved them!  She has now asked me to do a new baby card!  Hee hee!  Will post them at some point - but need to go and do the school run now!

Saturday 13 November 2010

I kept seeing these corner bookmarks around - so, of course, thought I just had to have a go!  I also had the perfect image for it...Mr and Mrs Owl from Delicious Doodles.  It was a breeze to make too!

I coloured them in with promarkers - then used sakura glaze on the feet and beaks and sakura tiara on their collars.  I decided it looked a little plain, so I went to town with the glitter....hmmmm, spent ages "scratching" it off Mr Owl's face after I saw this photo!

Hee hee - my son is now using it as his bookmark....why do I never get to keep any bookmarks for me?
Brainwave - whenever I make a bookmark, I will make two - identical!  Then I will get one to keep!  If you would like to buy this image then pop over to here!

Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for popping by!

Aud Sentiments - Happy Thanksgiving!

Its come round so quickly - just can't believe it!  Yep - its Aud Sentiments week - and this time around we would love to see your "Happy Thanksgiving" cards and projects or a card or project about something you are thankful for.

We have another fabulous sponsor. Her name is Catherine Pooler and she is an Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I had never used Stampin' Up! products until we came in contact and she shared some of her goodies with us and I am now hooked! I have already placed an order and am getting ready to place another one.

Visit Catherine Pooler's website to be inspired daily. Be sure to sign up for her e-mail newsletter to get subscriber-only projects, tutorials and a sign up gift! You can shop right on her website, www.catherinepooler.com to get your Stampin' Up goodies delivered straight to your door!
She is giving the winner of this challenge one free month of Club Inbox. Here is a little bit about it...

"Members get what no one else gets….exclusive videos and tutorials, teaching you techniques, seasonal projects, mini-albums, cards and more. All projects will be new and Catherine only shares them with club members!."
www.catherinepooler.com/clubinbox for the prize details.

Thank you Catherine!

Hmmmm - we are not that big on Thanksgiving in the UK - and, because I knew I would be in hospital at some time, I had pre-done mine a while ago!

So, here it is!  I used the ecraft to cut out the flower on the front!  Its one of the standard images on the Fundamentals 1 SD card that comes with the machine.

I then used one of the fabby Bugaboo images (wish I could have put this up for the DT call, but the dates didnt work for me!).

And here is the sentiment!  Kinda made me giggle - Roseanne Barr said something very similar....feels like Christmas day!

So, after all this chat - just have a pop over to Aud Sentiments and check out the DT work there - some stunning items!  And then, why not join in and see if you can win the rather fabby prize on offer!

Thanks for popping by!

Delicious Doodles First Challenge and Blog Hop

Just over a week to go until the launch of the Brand New

We will be having a fabby Blog Hop with loads of digi's up for grabs, oh, and take a look at this wonderful logo that Anita came up with for the Hop:

Grab the logo folks and spread the word!
The new Challenges start on
Friday 19th November!

Also, dont forget that Teri is doing a special candy for followers of the challenge blog!  Go and check it out!
Thanks for popping in - and I'll see you over at the Challenge Blog!

Bugaboo DT Call

Bugaboo have a DT call on...but I am on a couple of DTs already - and really cant honestly commit to producing another weekly project....what to do?????  Oh - its ok - I left a message and "very lovely Tammy" said that it was worth trying out for an occassional spot as a GDT!  Perfect!

You see, I love Bugaboo images - have quite a collection now - but I really dont want to leave my other teams!  I would not be trying out for any other DTs - but this was too good a chance to miss!

SO - we are to post 3 items - one using a Bugaboo image plus two others!  Oh, you know me well enough by now......I just couldnt pick - and I wanted to show the versatility of one image used for a few different cards!

I really hope that I haven't pushed the rules too far!  Well, perhaps they could just ignore the other ones???  I mean, I did put them in as small images!

Ok - shut your eyes if you dont want to see the "extra" ones!

Thanks for popping over!

Delicious Doodles Post! Cuteness!

For my Delicious Doodles post today I thought I would go for an autumn look this time round - so chose the gorgeous Dormouse image!

I coloured the image with chalks and promarkers - I wanted a delicate look to it.

Then I made a frame out of some leaves cut on my ecraft machine.  These are on the fundamentals 1 cartridge.

Think I may have "overpowered" the little Dormouse a little, just not sure really whether I have achieved a good contrast or just got a little "brash" with the whole thing!
But nothing can take away from how cute the image is!

Have just realised I can link this up for Stamping Vacation - two challenges in fact - to use green and rust, and also to use any shaped frame but round or square!

Thanks for popping by!

Aud Sentiments - Thanks

Here it is ..... finally!  Yes, I know I am a week late getting this up!!!!  Followers know that I have just had my gallbladder removed, so its kind of a good reason!

I really like how this card came out!  Nice and simple (as is my way!) and letting the image speak for itself!

Sure you recognise the image!  They are really distinctive.  Yep Meljen's Designs.  I was so glad we had the chance to play with these images - Meljen is also very generous and often has freebies available!
If you haven't had the chance to visit their site please go take a look. You should also check out their blog.

Here is a little bit about them...
"Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical digital images inspired by her kids and family. The Meljen's Designs store officially launched on April 1 and is steadily growing! Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at the WHIMSY STAMPS STORE to browse and enjoy Melissa's wonderful images!"
As sponsors, Meljen have offered 4 images to the winner of this challenge - and I love this challenge theme....

For this challenge we would like you to use the word "Thanks" somewhere on your project. It could be a Thanksgiving card, a Thank You card, whatever you want as long as it has the word "Thanks".

A final little close up of the image - such a breeze to colour too!

OK - I know its tight, but if you get the chance to enter it would be fabulous!

If you dont have the chance, then why not pop over to Aud Sentiments and see all the other inspiration over there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh - and, check out the candy over there too!  Stonking!

Popping by!

Hey all

Just thought I would put a quick update on...not been around for a week or so because I have been in hospital to have my gallbladder removed.  Am out - all ok - and on the mend!  Not half as bad as I thought it would be, but sitting typing is a bit uncomfortable at the moment - so going to lie down and watch some more daytime tv!!!  Back soon!
